“Kentdale”

What can you know of a lake or a mite?

The natural world,

just a breast and the dog to you.

All day,

the cartoon girl bleating like a plucked bell.

Far off,

Yukon and Sequoia.

And beyond, the Olympic mountains

—a great blue bull on its belly.
